Laura Wright is the Founder and President of HYGIENE EXCEL LTD, where she is dedicated to advancing excellence in periodontal and implant therapy through impactful continuing education, mentorship, and clinical skills development.

With more than 35 years of experience in dentistry and dental hygiene, Laura has earned a reputation for clinical excellence, leadership, and her ability to help clinicians build confidence and achieve mastery in patient care. Her diverse clinical background includes periodontics, implant therapy, prosthodontics, and general practice, providing her with a comprehensive understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing today’s dental professionals.

A pivotal point in Laura’s career was her time practicing in Calgary, where she had the privilege of working with and being mentored by renowned periodontist Dr. David French. The experience profoundly influenced her clinical philosophy and passion for periodontal and implant therapy, inspiring her ongoing commitment to providing high-quality, transformative continuing education for the dental profession.

Laura is a graduate and former class president of the University of Manitoba Dental Hygiene Program and a Past President of the Dental Hygienists Association of Alberta (DHAA). She remains actively involved in clinical practice within a general and prosthodontic setting, ensuring that her education is grounded in real-world experience and current evidence-based protocols.

Known for her passion for mentorship and practical teaching style, Laura specializes in advanced instrumentation, periodontal and implant therapy, diagnostic excellence, clinical calibration, and implementation strategies that improve both clinician confidence and patient outcomes. Her focus extends beyond sharing information—she is committed to helping clinicians successfully translate knowledge into predictable clinical results.

Through the acquisition and continued development of Hygiene Excellence’s educational programs, including PTM™ (Periodontal Therapist Module), Laura has expanded access to some of the profession’s most respected clinical training opportunities. Her programs combine evidence-based education, hands-on skill development, and individualized mentorship to support meaningful and lasting practice transformation.
